In addition we are delighted to announce that we have been able to support the Zambian International Seminar for 2011 and have funded the flights for Hanshi Hobbs so he is able to preside over this event.
Solomon Islands : John
The grant will help John to start the Community Youth Workshop for woodworking. Details can be seen in the news article below, from the Solomon Star
Zimbabwe : Anthony
The grant will assist in paying for my Graphics and Designing Course at a local College with a view to opening a small school in my hometown of Chitungwiza. I am hoping that the Grant will go a long way towards this assistance and I can complete this Course this year. I have so far managed to sustain myself and sibling on the monies that I get from selling paintings and carvings.
I have also been assisting in the dojo with training of underpriviledged kids with the same background as myself. This teaching is done free of charge as none of the local kids can afford to pay subscriptions to the dojo.
As I work with young kids the fact that someone from their hometown can go to college get a qualification and be self employed will be a great inspiration for my hometown and will humbly accept the task of ensuring I will be successful.
Zambia : Klaude
The grant will assist in setting up a small airtime business to benefit the local community.
